Legislature Moves to Block Access to Administrative Investigation Records

By the Denver Private Investigator Blog

Coloradans would be unable to get information about complaints against licensed practitioners from bail bondsmen to therapists if legislation approved by the House of Representatives becomes law.

House Bill 12-1036 would expand the list of records exempt that can be kept secret to include all records pertaining to any investigation of any professional  who has any license from the state.  Currently, most of those records are subject to disclosure, although records about complaints against lawyers and doctors are not.
