ImageDenver-based private investigator Anthony Accetta  – founder and principal in the private investigations firm The Accetta Group – is just out with a book in which he says the key to the collapse of the US economy in 2007-2008 was massive mortgage fraud – and the guilty have gotten away with it.

 

“You, The Jury: How Wall Street Cashed in on the American Dream, and Nearly Killed It”  is an insider’s account based in part on Accetta’s work as a federal prosecutor.

 

Today Accetta is a rare example of a lawyer-prosecutor turned private investigator. He answered some questions about his career arc and his book for the Denver Private Investigator Blog.

Denver Private Investigator Blog:  Why did you make that career change from lawyer-prosecutor to private investigator?

After some 30 years of litigating, I got tired of fighting with people. I wanted to be a part of building something, doing deals that benefited people and the economy, and left something good behind. Little did I know what Wall Street was really like!
