Colorado Has Licensed Private Investigators For the First Time in Decades

By the Denver Private Investigator Blog

DENVER — There are private investigators licensed by the state to do business in Colorado, the first time since the ‘70’s that the state has issued such licenses.

As of July 9, 41 investigators had been issued licenses. State officials began accepting applications April 16, the first license was issued April 23 and they became effective July 1. They say all applications submitted to date have been approved.

The licensing program is the result of legislation approved by the legislature last year and signed into law by Governor John Hickenlooper.
